CEOTXT v2 is live
We weren't happy with our own product. Now we are. v2 is the same install, rebuilt end to end on infrastructure we control.
CEOTXT v2 is a full rebuild of the weekly close — the same discipline founder-led teams already trust, now running on a modern in-house stack with sign-in, live healthchecks, and the kind of operational safety net we expect from the system our customers run their companies on.
Nothing about how the install works has changed. You still pick your KPIs, name an owner per KPI, lock the weekly close, and ship one consolidated leadership signal every week. What changed is everything around it.
Why v2 exists
When we launched CEOTXT in 2025, we shipped on a no-code platform so we could find out, quickly, whether founder-led teams really wanted a weekly leadership close. They did. v1 ran without meaningful downtime, and customers weren't complaining.
We were. v1 didn't meet the standard we want to hold ourselves to for the system you run your company on — slower iteration, less observability, less control over a stack we didn't own. So we rebuilt it. v2 is a complete, in-house rebuild on proper infrastructure: a TypeScript backend, a managed PostgreSQL database, paid tiers on every dependency, audited backups, and live healthchecks. The story is that simple — we weren't happy with our own product. Now we are.
What changed in v2
- Modern in-house stack. TypeScript backend, managed PostgreSQL, paid tiers on every dependency, audited backups. We own the stack end to end — no platform vendor between us and the data your weekly close runs on.
- SSO, the easy way. Sign in with Google or a passkey. No passwords to lose, no reset emails to dig out of spam. Phone OTP and email + password are still available as fallbacks.
- Live healthchecks and a public status page at ceotxt.com/status. Every critical path is monitored continuously. If anything drifts, we know before you do — and so can you.
- Faster end to end. Faster pages, faster sync, faster close — same product, rewritten on a stack built to stay fast as we grow.
- Faster iteration on our side. Owning the stack means we ship fixes and improvements in hours, not weeks. The roadmap moves faster from here.
What didn't change
This is the part we want to be loud about. v2 is not a redesign of the weekly close — it's the same close, running on better foundations.
- Same weekly close. One fixed close time, one number per KPI, one consolidated leadership signal — exactly as before.
- Same single-owner rule. One accountable owner per KPI. No shared accountability, no committee ownership.
- Same install. How you set up KPIs, owners, the close, and the leadership signal is unchanged. Nothing to relearn.
- Same intentionally small product. No dashboards, no project management, no all-in-one workspace. The close is still the product.
Why v2 matters to you
The weekly close is a system you trust your leadership team to run on. That trust is built less by features and more by the boring stuff underneath: durability, observability, the ability to fix problems quickly, and being honest in public when something goes wrong.
v2 is what lets us hold that standard now and as we grow. Same product surface, stronger foundation — and the roadmap moves faster from here because the stack is ours.
v2 is live
We will celebrate with cake.
